Hi,
Before i do anything drastic i thought id ask for a last bit of advice on here first.
As a few of you know cafcass and the courts ordered me to attend various courses in order for my application for contact with my daughter to resume. I have hit a few snags though, there are no triple P or parenting puzzle courses in my area (these are the ones i have to attend due to my daughters age), and all neighboring councils wont help me they are not running the courses i need and even if they were i am not in their catchment area.
I have various letters and emails from the relevant councils saying its not possible to help. I have also been ordered to attend a DVPP course due to harassment via text but i have not yet secured funding for this.
My question is, is it worth me cancelling this order, contacting court by email instructing them and showing evidence to support my case of not being able to follow the cafcass recommendations and re applying in 3-6 months time with a fresh C-100. Also will court treat the new application from fresh or do they tend to look back at previous applications and take guidance from them, ie recommend me doing these courses again which are simply not possible. I have seen i can do modules on parenting courses online etc but i need all recommendations complete and all im doing is hitting problem after problem all the time.
Any help will be great
Hi there
It's unacceptable that the courses you have been ordered to take before your case can progress aren't available, you would think the court would be aware of this before setting you an impossible task!
Personally I wouldn't cancel the order, I would write directly to the judge that made the order, attach all the letters that show the courses aren't available to you and ask for new directions.
Your previous case histories will be available to the court whenever a new application is made, so this problem is likely to surface again if you make another application. Try and get it sorted out under the existing case.
Best of luck
Thank you mojo, much appreciated 🙂
Hi,
Thank you both again for your responses.
I have written to the court and explained things and showed emails as evidence but im 90% sure all they will do is tell me to speak to a solicitor for advice, i can pretty much guarantee that.
My cafcass officer did reply today to tell me she may have found a dvpp course in the area and she asked if they accept referrals so thats some light, weymouth also got in touch this morning saying they could not take me on but will look to see who can help me, so things are not all lost but still not running as smoothly as i had hoped.
It never does run smoothly. Give it a little more time and keep knocking on the doors as frustrating as it might be. Long game remember.....
