Hi

I'm new to this site. I was looking for advice around the right to take a child abroad to live. The kids are 10 and 6, and the ex wife wants to move to NZ. Does she have to go through the courts to get this agreed; and does anybody know if the courts take into account the fact that it is NZ and if so, are they likely to refuse?

Thanks,

Hi

Assuming you were married when the children were born, you have Parental responsibility - can you confirm that?

If so, then she will need permission to take the children abroad - I would certainly consider a prohibited steps order if you want to prevent it, and once you have confirmed the above, we can ask the CCLC to give advice.
