My sons last court date was the 3rd October and we had not heard from the court regarding the next court date. I contacted them today and they have said they sent out a letter on the 20th October (not received). Next court date is 9th January 2019.
I have requested a copy of the order to be resent today, however they have informed me that my son needs to submit a statement by the 12th December outlining what he would like to be taken into account.
At the beginning of the court proceedings, my son submitted a position statement with evidence etc, outlining what he would like the court to order, background to his relationship and explaining why contact stopped. That was in November 2017.
IS this different to the statement that they are now asking for?
What would I need to put into the statement?
Do I now add attending Building Bridges course?
Do I change what we would like the outcome to be (it was every other weekend and 1 day during the week)
Do I now add about admitting be wrong in the past and hoping to move forward.
I am so confused?
the next hearing is a directions hearing.
Thanks
Nanny x
You can use your position statement as a starting point and build on that.
Repeat the list of what your son wants / what he is prepared to do etc.
Does the order specify whether evidence is permitted with the statement or the maximum length of the statement? If not, I would say it's safe to use your previous one and fit to suit.
It's always good to talk about moving forward if the issues from the previous statement are no longer relevant.
Yes, include the course.
You can end with 'I am seeking an order as follows;' and then lay out what your son wants to ask for.
Best of luck
Awiating the order to be emailed or re-posted. Court say they posted on the 20th October, chased yesterday as still not received.
So unsure what is actually in the order, only have the information the court gave me over the phone yesterday, which was the next court date hearing and that my son has to provide a statement by the 12th December with what he would like to be taken into account at the next hearing.
