[Solved] Social worker recommending my daughter lives with her Grandad. Any advice Please

Hi. Do I need to be worried?

My Daughter is 10

social services will be recommending my daughter lives with her Grandad and not with me at my Mothers Home where I am temporarily after issues with my daughters Mum.

The social believe my daughter is at risk of emotional abuse from her mother and would like her mother to be supervised when she sees my daughter after me calling the police on 2 separate occasions due to her drinking and behaviour smashing things up etc.

The social worker initially told me I need to take responsibility and apply for a child arrangement order and they will help with application costs as I am not working. When he stated this he already knew as was not working and in a 2 bedroom apartment.

And now they will be recommending she lives with her Grandad.

I have parental rights and responsibility but the social is going to recommend she lives with her grandad as he has a room for her and I am not working.

I should have work from someone a very good friend I worked for in the past soon and I am still looking.

My Mother has said my daughter can have the 2nd room of which I told the social worker and I will be in the living room on the couch which would be while I get things sorted.

How will this affect me in court. An advice be much appreciated.

Have they already placed your daughter with her Grandad? What level of contact does she have with her Grandad? Are social service making a care application to the court?

All I can suggest is that you make your case for,why your daughter should live with you, the fact that she will have her own room and your unemployment is temporary, I would also argue that the fact that you’re not working at the moment would be an advantage as you can give your child all of your time whilst she gets used to the changes happening in her life.

If you are going to see a solicitor about legal, aid, they may be able to help you with that his.
