Social Services want to do a risk assessment on me and my resident children aged 8 and 12.
They refuse to tell my why.
What is a 'Risk Assessment' ? And how do I proceed?
hi, this is probably a good place to start - https://childlawadvice.org.uk/information-pages/child-protection-referral-assessments-and-outcomes/
will explain it better than I can 🙂
Generally speaking, a risk assessment is required where there have been safeguarding concerns raised. The link provided should answer your questions, but I fully understand that you must be worried, best to work with them and show them that your children are well cared for.
All the best
Well in 2013 I fell out with the teacher and this is weighed against me apparently. I recently worked in a nursery under supply work that was inappropriate as Im not trained for this phase. So I did things wrong, not police type things but enough to count against me. Also the social worker noted that my 12 yr old likes to sleep on a fold out sofa bed not a 'proper' bed. Plus my 8 yr old made a strange draught excluder out of rolled up paper and this looks 'suspicious'.
I get the feeling I am being picked on here having read your link. & days to result (have a wait while she contacts schools and the Doctor because someone in 2013 reported my daughter had a seizure and I didn't act. Neither my children have had any seizures, head injuries etc but no one believes me...im the lying Dad!)
