Afternoon
Cafcass have recommended my son cant stay with me overnight untill he is 3 as they have research showing this ?? He is two and a half, a 6 month wait is massive for me, I have been waiting for 2 years for this. We see each other every 2 weeks and have an amazing bond alread.
My legal friend has said she has never heard of this age thing before and take research to contridict what Cafcass are recommending, thats great but I dont have a clue where to look ?
I have googled loads, but cant find research I must be looking in the wrong place !
Any help would be greatly appriciated !
Thanks
Mark
Go back to Cafcass and ask for a copy of their research - sounds like complete [censored] to me - my childnre love staying with me and one was 2 when we split and hes had no problems staying at mine - infact he absolutely loves it the he turns 4 in October and now hes getting a bit wiser he has said on one occasion that he wished I lived with him and his mum and her BF didnt but a quick sit down talk soon sorted it out for him and we were back to playing lego in no time
Thanks !
They really get my back up CAFCASS, they are so incompetent !
No worries - if they are using this research as a method to block you it's only fair they should show it to you
Someone from this forum sent me this link a while back, not sure if it is of any use to you or how legit it is....

I believe the research the judges are vaguely aware of include mackintosh and that shared care prior to school age may not be in the best interests of the child, in that there is increased biting and other troublesome behaviours. Floored research of course like most of the social sciences.
I would challenge CAFCASS on the factual contents that they have not referenced the work - and quote the above research and whether they really are familiar with the literature. And how they came to this conclusion.
Make sure you ask for shared care - so your starting with a higher bartering level
