Hi all,
I have just submitted and had my initial writ approved by a judge and enforced on my ex partner by the sheriff officers....
I have literally no idea what happens now after the 21 days, does it go to a trial? A hearing? I’m slightly torn by the process and I don’t even know what to expect;;) .... I am hoping to pick up and prepare myself to self represent as I have came this far on my own taking me months to present my case and produce the initial writ to the judge. Now, I am wondering if getting a lawyer involved is necessary as I’m on the assumption my ex will have a lawyer against me. Is it possible to do it alone in the courts?:whistle:
To give you an insight I am just an average guy who became a dad after a mutual break up. My ex was bitter at the fact I didn’t want to get back with her because we had a baby but upon arguing too much I felt it wouldn’t have been fair on the baby. I gave up working offshore to become a dad but sadly I wasn’t invited to any scans, birth, I was refused on the birth cert and I only ever get to see the little one on her approval. He is now 3 with speech problems and attends nursery to which I get refused details about nursery and his speech therapist and also have never had overnight contact etc so I have applied for PRR and a contact order. I understand people have got a harder deal with their kids but I still can’t sleep at night thinking I rarely see him or play a fair part in his life..
I have nothing against me ie violent, drug user..I work respectfully full time as a pharmaceutical drug manufacturer and am simply seeking what’s right for my little one but have no idea what to expect next. Has anybody self represented or even had a case in a scottish court house? Any tips would be super appreciated 🙂

Did you follow up with the links I provided on your previous thread? I’m pretty sure that SCLC and Families Need Fathers could assist you with the answers to your questions, and may be able to recommend a McKenzie Friend to assist you.
Families Need Fathers have meetings that offer support, advice and contact with others going through similar situations. Perhaps you might like to check out if there are any meetings near to where you live.
As I’ve commented before, my knowledge of the Scottish system is limited, I’m sorry that I can’t help you further.

To tell the truth, it is really very difficult to get over a divorce and stay on good terms. The most important thing is not to involve children in your showdown and limit the access of one of the parents to the child.
