For the police to prosecute, they have to lay the case before the CPS, who then have to decide (amongst other things) whether there is a likely chance of conviction. For that, they would have to decide if a court could convict on the basis of "beyond reasonable doubt" - so unless the photos are identifiably her, and the prosecution could prove that you were the one to inflict these marks, then I can't see that the police would actually press for a prosecution.
Completely agree with actd. I strongly doubt the police will pay attention to it. They may invite you for an interview. You must have a lawyer present and DO NOT say anything as you could incriminate yourself.
The family court has a lower threshold than the criminal court, as it didn't pass through then so it's going no where.
