If a parent who's not lived with there child for 5 years & not paid any maintanence in that time , do they have to pay for what they haven't paid for in that period ( back pay so to speak ) if the mother goes to the CSA for payments ?

Hi there 🙂

A CSA claim can only start from the point that the application is made. If the mother goes to the CSA she cant get the back payments if there hasnt been an application. 🙂

Hi There,

NJ is right, the case starts from the date the CSA recieve contact, back payments will only go back as far as that date and not before.
