[Solved] Payment of a contact centre

Hi

I have recently been to court about access with my daughter, the court has granted me upto 4hours once a month supervised at a contact center and/or community based.

Social services recommended 4hours because my daughter and myself are very outdoors people which both my daughter and myself stated to them, The previous contact i had with her was supervised by my mother but short and we didn't have time to go anywhere or do anything, my problem now is i am unemployed and the contact center charge £40 per hour! i can barely scrape by paying £40 for one hour let alone £160 for 4hours as i have bills and other debts to pay aswell!

Does this not completly defeat the object?

Is there any way i can get help paying towards it or any other options?

Thank you in advance

Hi there

Your order states contact centre and/or community based, community based means outside in the community. I would suggest that you write to the court and explain that a CC is unaffordable and request clarification on how the community based contact might work.

You could also speak to Social Services about your predicament, they may know of other charity based centres that wouldn't charge such a large amount. Some churches and community centres also run contact centres.

All the best

Just a thought, does the contact centre have any schemes for parents who are unemployed or on benefits - they will have come across this plenty of times, so they could be your first place to check,
