Hi
After some advice with reference to getting passports for my children . I have a 14 year old son and a 16 year old daughter who now has got an adult uk passport. I'm having great difficulties with the UK passport office issuing me one for my son . 8 years ago I went to court and was given an interim court order the mother then disappeared and this his how it was left till further notice. The children have not seen or heard from there mum in over 8 years without either any child maintenance towards them. The children would like to visit the only grandparents they have in Spain but I'm having great difficulties getting my sons passport as all the information I have provided to them is insufficient . Please could anyone advise if they have had the same problem? Do I need to go back to court ?
Many Thanks
It's probably worth giving Coram a call http://childlawadvice.org.uk/clas/contact-child-law-advice/
They should be able to advise you.
Failing that, you can make an application to the court and would be exempt from mediation under the circumstances
If you are wanting to travel fairly soon, you could do this as an urgent application
It might be worth making an application anyway so that you have a final order laying out that the children live with you following their mother's disappearance.
