[Solved] Partners Ex causing problems

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me please. I have been with my partner for 2 years now and didn't meet his children until a year into our relationship and we knew we were serious. I also have a child myself. His ex has a new partner also so you'd think there wouldn't be a problem....WRONG!! I get on extremely well with his kids & love them both to bits. When him & his ex split, she left him and now she wont stop messaging him bad mouthing me, running me down, basically causing us problems. She was fine for ages and now shes gone wild making up lies about me, saying she doesn't want me around the kids and that she will stop him seeing them. As you can understand this is driving us both mad. She has also claimed to have reported me to the police for being a threat to her children when I have done nothing wrong. I'm a mother myself & don't have any of these problems with the father of my child who is now married & has other children with his wife & we all get along. Can any one help me me please, my partner & I love each other very much, as well as his kids & I hate seeing him go through this. He just wishes that she would leave us alone to get on with our relationship & stop using the poor kids as a weapon.

Hi There,
.
You are in a difficult position, the best advice I can give at the moment is to ignore the messages and threats, until she follows up on a threat to stop your partner seeing the children, you are limited as to what you can do.
.
That said he does have an option of going through the official route to ensure that contact is set through the courts, he would firstly need to attempt mediation so that him and his ex can discuss her "concerns" which I'm sure are made up, if mediation doesn't help he can apply to teh family courts for an order to be written which will cover contact, this can also cover the childrens contact with you.
.
The court route is really the last one you want to take as things are likely to get worse before they get better if you take it, but it is an option.
