[Solved] Parenting course

I have somehow ended up agreeing to do a parenting course but now can't find one. Cafcass said the family court advisor could assist but they can't, or I could self refer but to who?? Any clues anyone?

Could you specify what type of course?

It just says in the papers I got "the mother suggested that the father might benefit from a parenting course and the father confirmed to the court that he would be willing to undertake one". Then its says "cafcass indicted that the family court advisor could assist with this (I phoned , they cant) or the father could self refer". That's as much as I know - tbh didn't even know I'd agreed to anything

I would think this is what they are talking about

https://www.cafcass.gov.uk/grown-ups/parents-and-carers/divorce-and-separation/separated-parents-information-programme/

Hope that helps

Thanks but its not that cos it says further down ""the court considered that the issue of the parties attending a SPIP would be better considered at the DRA". I'll phone the cafcass woman come monday but the one who has been allocated to the case isn't the same one who was in court, so this one won't know what I'm on about I bet.

I'm sure if you just google parenting courses in your area, it should give you details of any that are available. CAFCASS are usually quite up to speed with courses that are available so I'm surprised they passed it over the the court adviser. I'll have a look around, but not knowing your location makes that a bit difficult to be honest.

Best of luck

Hi,

as DAD.info forms part of Spurgeons, it is worth knowing that we have a Parenting after Separation course for free available here: Parenting after separation course | Separated parents course
