I am confused about PR

I have a 4 yr old daughter. I was never married to my ex. My name is on the birth certificate (she has my surname)

Do I currently have PR

Thanks in advance

Hi Wamps37,

My understanding is that after December 2003, if a child is born to unmarried parents but both parents are named on the birth certificate then parental responsibility is held by both parents by default. So in your case I would say yes you do have parental responsibility, and furthermore it is not something you can loose unless specifically requested by you through the courts, or something happens to warrant the courts removing it.

I may be wrong but I think that is the case.
