[Solved] Non molestation order and child contact

I have received a non molestation order after committing a common assault towards my 7 years old daughter, in a bad attempt of disciplining her. The order was granted on the 2nd hearing without my presence.

How do I get child contact? Can I?

Many thanks,
Dad

I would contact the Coram Children's legal centre for somefree legal advice - because the assualt was against your daughter, I would guess it's going to be a lot more difficult, and I would guess it will be either supervised contact if you are lucky, or indirect contact otherwise.

Hi,

I have made numerous mistakes but never would i strike my child, in any circumstances. if your lucky to see her anytime soon go get some counselling or go on a family course to find other ways of disciplining your child

Hi there

Contact with your child will be an uphill struggle. If the non mol was made without your attendance you should be given an opportunity to argue your case, but from what you say, you don't have grounds to do that.

We're Childrens Services involved? If they were then you could try contacting them to see if they can help with contact and/or courses for your anger and parenting.

You could try writing to the mother and ask if she would allow contact to resume with supervision in a contact centre, otherwise your only course of action would be an application to court for an Child Arrangements Order. It won't be easy.
