I came home on 6th Dec to find my partner and child gone. My partner has longstanding mental health issues, including two sections and four suicide attempt - two of them whilst with me. She has also said that if She attempted it again, She would not leave my daughter behind. She has done this twice before, and gone into a reguge, once with my daughter when she was young. After 3 wks in each case, she has told the refuge she was making it up, called me to pick her up and came back. She explained this as needing 'breathing space'. I was not allowed to say anything, as she said if I did, She would do it again. So, this time, She won't be coming back. There are no orders or ongoing criminal proceedings against me, I am not considered a threat to my child and so far there are no Court orders against me. Apparently, there is information within a Drs. report that justifies an allegation of DV. There has been no DV. There can be no physical assault evidence of any kind, there is no issue of harm against my child. the only thing I can think of is a claim of emotional abuse. Actually, it is I that have been in that boat all along. There has been neglect by my Partner to our child and those have been passed to MASH. My child is being assessed for autism, and my ex couldn't handle it and has fled. I have asked the Police what these allegations are, and they said that the file was closed so why bother finding out. I involved Social Services, but they will tell me nothing at all. I have asked for welfare checks and they came back Safe. I do not know what emotional effect this is having on my child, where they are, which school my child is attending etc. It's an information black hole. I can't afford to go to Court yet, as my ex had been passing money to accounts I did not know anything about. The Police say She wants no contact, and to attempt it would result in an NMO. What the heck can I do? She 'divorced' her family in exactly the same way when She was 17, apart from the refuge part. I know I can access at least some of the details from the Police, but Social workers say I will not be doing myself any favours. I have no idea what She could have said, but it sounds pretty bad to me. She could have said anything, really. I have done a MIAM, Parenting Plan, just to get them out of the way if asked. I have even done a DV course and Parenting course online, although I have no reason to, just to cover every objection that could be made. Any ideas? Does anyone know why I am being kept in the dark?
Hi there
It might be helpful to contact the Family Rights Group, they're experienced with families and children that are involved with Social Services.

If you were to make a court application, do you have an address that the court could use to get in touch with her? If not you may need to apply for a seek and find order first. There are many here that go through the court process without using a solicitor, it's doable and we would try and help and advise you through it.
All the best
