Hi,
Its been a while.
Im complately halfway through Cafcass 'Building Better Relationship' program and Ive been told that my contract will progress from the current supported arrangements when I finish the course.
My ex is seeking an order where I can only ever see my son via supported contact. She has never made any allegations between me and my son.
Anyway, I received a call from Cafcass informing me that my wife has made new allegation. She claims that I have been sending her abuses messages on Twitter. Although I use Twitter to promote my company, these messages were sent from a fake account that used my name and photo.
I believe it is nothing more than a blatant attempt by my ex to sabotage my contact and stop it from progressing. I explained this to Cafcass and that I would never do anything stupid and blatant as that, derailing all my hard work this past year. However, i believe they will sit on the fence and air on the side of caution.
Im not sure what to do. Its one hurdle after another.
I met another dad who had supported contact that went back to indirect after the mum made new allegations. I fear that may happen to me.
Advise apprecited.
Think you have answered yourself. I would firstly explain to CAFCASS what you know/believe is happening and ask them to consider the facts that mum wants contact supervised, is now not getting it and so has resorted to this tactic.
I would email twitter to explain the circumstance and have the account removed.
Just a thought. You may wish to consider calling 101 and reporting the circumstance. The police may be able to take action under the protection from harassment act 1997 or under the new "coercive control" laws.
Both pieces of legislation if it can be proven to be her (and the police now have a range of powers to deal with this) can result in some form of action or rather must result in some form of action. The police may be able to contact twitter for confirmation and they can trace this.
If that happens you can then request the court to deal with mum.
Hi There,
.
My view is the same as Yoji's, deal with this officially, contact the police and ask them to investigate, hopefully they would be able to obtain the IP address that these messages were sent from, if they can prove your ex was involved then that will help your case no end, but if they can't but can prove this account wasn't set up or used by you, then that would also help.
.
It may be worth contacting a solicitor for some advice as if the police are contacted by a solicitor they may act a little quicker.

GTTS
Hi BM
Sorry to hear about this, complete nightmare for you.
I would echo all that GTTS and Yoji have said, definitely get twitter and the police to try and deal with this matter for you. Please keep us updated and let us know how you get on.
Sending best wishes.
Thanks but the account had been deleted. I did not know of its existance until the cafcass officer told me. Although couple of months earlier someone did troll me on twitter via a fake account, I reported it and it was removed. I have e-mails of that report.
Anyway, my ex is refusing to give info on when and how she came across this account. This is important since she never had a twitter account when we were together and Im wondering how she may have come across them since this fake account doesnt use my real name. She also hasnt submitted any screenshots of the first message the account sent to establish contact and let her know of its presence, if that makes sense.
To my its an obvious attempt by someone trying to create evidence to use against me
