[Solved] missed court for NMO

Hi,

I have just received a court order asking me to attend court yesterday on 17th September, which i was not aware of. They said at court that for this NMO charge i should provide police records within 14 days, which would have taken me to the 11th September. I was also aware there was a section 7 ordered but was not aware there was a court date given at FHRDA for fact finding charge. I even emailed the court 2 days ago asking for court order for clarification as it has been 3 weeks since i attended

What should i do? things are going so well but i was not aware of this? i am scared i will be found guilty although i have all the evidence. Is it possible they gave a date in court order but not at court and it has passed already?

Can anyone please advise what i should do immediately. I am always well organised and cannot believe this has happened

Thanks

the date the court order was issued was yesterday which was the same day as NMO court date. I was not even made aware at FHDRA-this is so unfair

Hopefully someone with experience of this will be able to offer advice, but I would also go to see the Citizens Advice Bureau as soon as possible for advice on this.

Its okay, they sent me an order with no date of court date but just saying the judge ordered yesterday 17th they will have a one day hearing at a date in the future..another tree dies for a complete waste of time. I am like a springed coil on edge scared of making any mistakes. I was so scared i had missed court date. I have two case numbers running concurrently and i like others feel under so much pressure.
Thanks actd. Sorry for the drama

No need to apologise - better you let off steam on here, so hopefully we can help reduce your stress overall.

If there are children & NMO proceedings, you have to have two case numbers. Unfortunately, court administration is well known for being quite shabby and you will have to keep on your toes.

If you have all the paperwork now, I would advise you read it very carefully and take legal advice where possible so that you are aware of your obligations to the proceedings in terms of attending hearings or preparing paperwork.

Always feel free to let off steam or ask on here.

All the best

I take heart from your original post, where you state that things are going so well, but as said, we are here to advise and support you... sorry for the slight delay in responding, but I see it's sorted now.

As Yoda says, it's important to make sure you're read everything carefully and if your not sure about anything , call the court immediately for clarification of dates and times.

Some of the main courts have a PSU which is a Personal Support Unit, they're there to assist generally and can sometimes attend the hearing with people for extra support, although they can't get involved with the case.

All the best
