Hi,
Is there still such a thing as legal aid?
Just trying to plan ex's next course of action. She is in receipt of benefits and I'm concerned that if she is getting free legal support, she could start court proceedings.
Cheers
In the Family courts she can only get legal aid if there is concrete proof of DV not to sure about with regards to the divorce ect maybe someone else could advise?
Slims right, no LA unless there has been provable DV and that goes for dads that are on the receiving end as well.
In Scotland LA is still available depending on income, as it once was he in England.
cheers guys,
I think this answers my suspicions as to why she has substantially increased the settlement amount from the house as her mum has been bank rolling her legal fees so far.
That with the purchase of a new car and a list of white goods etc for her home as long as my arm. Didn't just buy a double bed, had to go for a king size bed aswell. It's an absolute joke.
This is a woman who claims she has to live on a meagre income each month.
I don't consider having a net income of £2,300 a meagre income at all especially with her brother paying 6 months rent up front for her as a gesture of kindness.
Rant over
👿
If no proven DV within the last 18 months no entitlement of legal aid.
