I know a lot of people have CSA problems on this forum but as my ex and I handle everything out of court allow me to present you Legal Eagles with something different.

I am currently (unfortunately) between jobs and claiming Job Seekers Allowance. Today I received a letter from DWP saying they would not be paying me from March till June. Facts:

DWP Reasoning : I did not attend a Mandatory Work Placement from Feb 8th till Feb 22nd

My Argument : My application for the Royal Air Force was in full swing, I had three interviews on 13th, 15th and 18th Feb with the possibility for another the week after.

I called on the 6th Feb (When I recieved my letter for the Work placement) to tell them I could not do this, they said "ok leave it with us"
I have sent my letters (dated and signed by the Armed Forces Careers Office) to the DWP as proof.
Fast forward to March the 13th and bang "we have decided your reasons were not good enough"

I have basically been (in my opinion) punished for TRYING to get work. Does anyone have any advice on this? And please no whining about there are plenty of jobs if you aren't picky, I know this just more concerned about being done over on this one.

*EDIT*
Forgot to mention this is all me and my daughter have to live on at the moment, sorry if the post seems sarcastic I'm a bit angry :p

Haha yeah thats exactly what I've done, when I posted this yesterday I was unbelievably angry. Love this country where people who lay around get to live off the tax payers money whilst real honest people get the rubbish deals :p!

Hi Robo

I was out of work and had to attend the JSA programme, I like you, called them to say I had consecutive job interviews and they said "leave it with us" I appealed also but I never got the money back unfortunately. You can only appeal once which is interesting.

Then there is further hardship because you end up not having got money to attend further interviews so its a losing battle.

If you don't attend you don't get JSA. They are very rigid.

I wish you luck and hope you get a better outcome than me.

...If your appeal is unsuccessful you could try asking your MP for help 🙂

I'd be inclined to go to your MP straight away, even if they do uphold your appeal, your MP could raise the issue for others, and if your appeal doesn't succeed, you've already started the process.
