As some of you know I'm having to opt for court to get contact and PRR as a non bio from birth.

I've applied for legal aid, failed at mediation and solicitor letter sent requesting contact. It's approaching a couple of weeks for the legal aid to come back to my solicitor, but typically how long does it take from paperwork being sent to the court to the actual day of the hearing....

A week? Two? A month?

Just looking for your own experiences. I'm doubtful she will even turn up to court but it's the waiting game that's getting to me now....

I got my solictor to send the papers recorded Ex still hasnt picked them up from PO yet, I'd ask for similar to hapopen then you can track them via RM and if she doesn't sign for them that's her problem,

She was sent papers last Friday/Sat and my Solictor has now filed with the court that the papers have been served court hearing for the 4th of Feb so around 4/5 weeks.

I've got a feeling she's not going to turn up at court or get in touch with CAFCASS either I phoned them up aand explained what would happen if she failed to deal with them I was informed then it would not be good for her and the report would be in my favour.

Remember the longer they leave it the less chance they have to prepare a case against you 8)

Now although this is like a dream come true I also feel that my ex won't turn up or will ignore, I'd be amazed if she appeared.

What can/does the court normally do in these cases? If she didn't turn up and I asked for an interim contact order is it likely to be granted in her absence or would they treat it as no defense and grant the full shebang?

I'm not sure I think the judge will still hear the case and may award interim contact order I suppose this will be on a case for case basis. If they don't show up for court then they can be done for contempt etc and dont think the judge will be chuffed either I know there are actions that can be taken if they refuse contact etc after an order has been granted like driving ban, contempt of court, Charged or even jailed but as I say on a case for case basis. Could be the case that the hearing is also adjurned if thats the case I'd asking for costs against the ex,
