Hi,
slightly confused- looking for some advice please. Had my first safeguarding telephone interview with cafcass afew days ago. If i didnt mis-hear im certain she said she will contact mother for interview then send us and the courts safeguarding letter. Iv not heard back and not got a first hearing date yet either.
how long after your first cafcass interview in regards to safeguarding did you receive the report/ letter.
Also was it done via email or post?
Any response would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your help!
hi,
yes usually Cafcass phone both parents and speak to them, before sending out a safeguarding letter. they tend to send the safeguarding letter out before the hearing date. they can be unpredictable. they emailed me the letter in the past. Another time someone handed the letter to me while I was sitting in the waiting area on the day of hearing. I would suggest that once you receive a date for 1st hearing, you can contact cafcass by email/phone a few days ahead and ask about the safeguarding letter, if you haven't received it yet.
@bill337 Thank you for this! do you know roughly how soon after you get sent a first hearing date once telephone interviews have been done on both sides? as in 2022. Hoping things would speed up by now since covid is more or less done. i must have heard incorrectly that she would send me the report the following day.
@dadmatter hi, am not sure about timeframes. did cafcass email you to arrange the phone call? you could email them back and ask when they will send the letter to you.
