Hi all,
my wife has placed home rights on my house that I owned before marriage and have £200k equity in.
she is basically blackmailing me to stick with her so I can’t divorce as I will lose 50%+ of the house and equity.
Question…. I want to add my sister to the property and I believe this will invalidate the home rights as it is now a house in joint names.
can I use this loophole?
regards
hi,
am not familiar with this, but a lot of information here if it helps:
You could try the Citizens Advice and see if they are able to offer any help. Many branches have a pro bono solicitor on hand for legal questions
to be honest, with such an amount at stake, I'd recomment you get professional legal advice on this. It will cost you, but get it wrong and it could cost you a lot more.
