Hi there , I really in need of help and advice , I'm a father of 2 daughters and I have been stopped contact , I have a current court order which allows me
Access to my daughters , but my ex has breached this order for 11 months , she's changed address , moved school and changed her number , since there is no such thing as legal aid no more I am struggling to afford to go back to court , on top of living and paying my bills , I also pay her child support every month , I've rang the police informing that she is breaking a legal court order but they don't want to no they say it's a civil matter and that I have to go back to court how can this be when I already have a legal court
Order in place what was point in me going to get it in 1st place when it can obviously be broken at any point she wishes . I'm at a loose end and miss my kids , is there any help to how I may go about things . There is no help from our government to support us fathers in need but all help to the mothers it's wrong . Thanks in advance
Hi There,
Sorry to hear of your issues.
You can apply to the court for an enforcement order to be made the cost of this is the same as it was for applying for the original order, £250 from memory, you can self represent throughout and don't need solicitors which will keep the costs down,
There is a topic pinned to the top of the legal section of this forum which is a guide to representing yourself through court, I'd have a read through it, court isn't as daunting as you would think when you don't take solicitors as the legal language isn't used as much and the judges are quite used to self representing parents.
If you apply to the courts explain to them that at present you don't have an address for your ex as she has moved and hasn't told you where she has gone, I'm not sure what help they can be about that but it is worth bringing it up.

Hi, sorry to hear you're going through this. If you cannot afford court fees you can complete an EX160A form which may give you full or part exemption from them.
My partner is representing himself and it's not as scary as it first seems, there's loads of notes at the top of this category that can help you & everyone on here is very supportive and can offer advice. If you don't have legal representation you can phone CORAM for free legal advice too.
