Hi Skully and welcome 🙂

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.

There are situations where the Dad is granted Residency (custody) but any court would be loathe to take children out of their home and all of the disruption that can cause, without very good reason.

Hi,

There usually have to be very good reasons for a court to award custody to the non resident parent....neglect, abuse etc. You can however go for shared Residency, where you would have your girls for some of the time.

When the dust settles, think about trying mediation to negotiate the amount of contact. Heres a link ~ www.nfm.org.uk

Hi Skully,

Welcome to the site - sorry to hear about your relationship breakdown.

For a more detailed answer to your question pop over to the Legal Board, give as much detail as you are able and we'll get the Coram's Children's Legal Centre to pop by and give you some advice.
