Hi All,
I'm new to all of this 'custody minefield.' I split with the mother of my 16 month old son 4 months ago. She's allowing minimal contact, alleging DV. I've tried to get her to mediation but she didn't respond. I'm now informed that that the next step is to apply to court with form C100. And I'm having difficulty doing so and worrying about representing myself in court.
I'm not sleeping well, get depressed and I know that I'm not thinking straight. I need some advice but I don't have a lot of money. I've heard horror stories about fellow suffering single dads being taken advantage of in these circumstances and being left thousands out of pocket.
I'm not unwilling to spend some of my savings on fighting the good fight but I want to have something left to leave to my son... I'm looking for a good McKenzie friend, I guess. I've seen list of MKs who seek payment, on the FNF website but have no way of knowing of judging their effectiveness. I've also heard that there are some McKenzies who offer their services just for expenses, perhaps with the idea of paying it forward which I would certainly be willing to do having gained all the experience I'm likely to going through this process.
Where can I find a McKenzie willing to help me for expenses?
Can anyone out there in Dad.info land recommend me a McKenzie who covers east Kent, paid or expenses only, who has really helped them in their case?
Many thanks.
I've Sent you a PM
