I've been accused of 2 counts of common assault - both in 2013
Please can anyone confirm if these would be classed as summary offences and if so confirm that the time limit for reporting these items would be 6 months.
FYI. I refute both claims
A little background. These claims have come not 10'days after child maintainance payments stopped. I was forced to stop working as both my ex wife and her boyfriend (who has a history of violent crime) have been harassing me at my workplace.
Hi,
I'm not well versed in criminal law unfortunately.
Did you, as advised previously, inform the police of the harassment you were receiving from your ex and her partner?
I would have thought the police will have to interview you and you would be given an opportunity to exhibit evidence of the abuse you were receiving and a decision will be made whether to proceed on the matter.
It would be prudent to take some legal advice from a solicitor in this instance - your local CAB will hold details of solicitors who offer free 30 minute consultations.
Thank you for our comments yoda.
Yes harassment has been reported to police.
It's all a great shame really as all I want is for a quiet life! My ex has had everything her own way including retaining the marital home which she now occupies with the man with whom she had an affair.
Sadly it seems that she is [censored] bent on making my life misery even after 2 years of separation and prevention of access to the children for over 18 months.
