Hi Gents.

I've been on here with a few posts and have my seconds hearing approaching. Currently jumping through the hoops to get the result that I'm after.

In terms of when my Contact order is finally written I wanted to know where I stand in terms of the rest of my family seeing my son and do I need to have this written in the order.

1) is it possible that my parents or his auntie would be able to look after him for the evening and stop over there's and can I solely make that decision or do I need permission.

It would not be a regular thing but my family would love to spend time with him and there could be times when in my order and it my weekend that I might need him babysitter for the night.

Thanks.

Hello MrB179,

If there are no safeguarding or welfare issues concerning your child regarding you or your family / friends and you are granted overnights / weekends stipulated in a Court Order for contact then your child is your entire responsibility during those periods. Acting responsibly, you can with your Son, do, go, mix with anyone you choose. It is your sole decision.

When my Son's children come to stay I am with them a considerable amount of the time and on the odd occasion babysit in the evening.

You shouldn't have to ask permission for your son to spend time with the paternal family whilst your son is with you. However, if you think this is going to be an issue further down the line, you can ask the court to include this in your order. I've seen a fair few mothers stop contact over this sort of problem but you will know best if it's likely to raise it's head.

There is no safeguarding issues regarding my parents and sister, they only want to be involved in his life and help me out if need be.

My ex will have a problem with this as she don't even want me looking after him but I will be sure to raise this and hopefully get it this put into my final court order.

Second hearing coming up April with all false allegations dealt with so hoping to finish it all up then but would not be surprised if goes to final hearing as ex will never agree to my very reasonable terns eg every other weekend, couple hours one weekday.

Thank you for your answers.

As you have concerns that this will cause a problem, I agree with Yoda that you should raise it with the court and ask that it be noted in the final order.

Have you been asked to provide a statement? You could prepare a short position statement to address your concerns, just briefly explaining what your concerns are and requesting that it form part of the negotiations and be defined within the final order.

I am approaching my second hearing. I have yet to do a statement but my solitor will write one. I will be sure to bring all my queries to them before so hopefully I can get them in the order. Thanks and I will let people no how I've got on as my journey through this continues.
