hi can anyone help me i was wondering if im going to court just to get my name on the birth cert and not for access do i still have to go to mediation as well as reason im deciding for fighting for custody is because with her breast feeding the court cant force her to give me access they can only advise and say etc but then she cud always use the excuse that she cant express and therefore dont need to agree etc
You can apply for a Child Arrangement Order as well as PR. It's my understanding you would have to attempt mediation for either scenario, I haven't been able to find anything that states how you can be exempt in that instance.
Whilst I understand your child is very young, the court can make an order for contact that will fit in with your child's needs and grow with them. Court is not a quick resolution and making an application for both issues at this stage will save you having to return to court at a later date for contact.
Good luck
