Finally it looks likely that I will be going to court to get a residency or contact order.
I am looking for a lawyer in Scotland, preferably in Glasgow and with experience of international cases, who will be good but affordable.
Does anyone have any experience of people to go to, or to avoid?
Thanks
Hi there
Whilst I have no personal knowledge of lawyers in Glasgow, I looked on Legal 500, which has league tables of the best lawyers by region. Here's a link to the recommended solicitors in Glasgow

If these are at the top of their game they are likely to be expensive, but let's face it, none are cheap! When looking for a lawyer, look at their family law creditials, whether they are part of resolution or on the family panel and whether they are trained as mediators, a strong family law department would indicate that they have plenty of experience.
Here's another link to a list of family law solicitors from the family law association website.

Best of luck
It might also be worth asking at Families Need Fathers Scotland if they can recommend someone you find on the list Mojo has provided.
I've tried to put a link to them but the forum technology doesn't seem to like the link. You can google FNF Scotland and it will take you straight there 🙂
Thanks for these suggestions.
Are there any sites where people actually comment on their experience with particular solicitors?
I have found some but there are either very few reviews or they are "manufactured" by the law firm.
Or does anyone have direct experience they will share?
Regards
I suspect that there are very few sites - the last thing you want to be doing is to publicly condemn a solicitor - they know how to sue, and it won't cost them anything to do so ;;)
