I have been given full custody of my child by social services they have said this will be for while, due to child services and police investigation with my ex. Ill need the CSA i pay to my ex to support my daughter. Will the csa allow this? Ian
Hi Ian
As your child is now living with you you will be entitled to Child Benefit and working families tax credits, and possibly some help with council tax. Contact the Child Benefit office asap as this can take a number of weeks to get sorted out.
As far as the CSA is concerned you do need to let them know asap that the child is now living with you and you are in the process of claiming child benefit.
It might be advisable to apply for an urgent residence order for the child to prevent the mother from taking the child back at some point in the future.
