Hi there, this is my second post on here. I placed an urgent c100 and C1A today and within 3 hours received a call to state that hearing will take place next Monday! I’m happy but at the same time feel panicked now as I thought I’d have at least 2 weeks. I have near enough finalised my position statement. And I know I need an index of contents. Any advice on what I need for a first hearing? I’m self representing but have had lots of legal advice.

Mum is an alcoholic and child is at risk. Any tips on what to take would be great. My daughter is under social services after two referrals from police and school, but no action has been taken! And police have been called due to mother attacking me and taking my daughter from inside my home. I have a good chronology of events with txt messages evidence of some events. Should I organise it and take all this for the first hearing?

Kind regards
Al

Hi,

its good you got your hearing so fast. just write a position statement and try keep it brief. do not go into heavy detail or provide evidence. at end of statement, use a heading: Directions

under here write down what you want the court to do/what childrens arrangement you would like.

here is example:

position statement info: https://childlawadvice.org.uk/information-pages/writing-a-position-statement/

https://childlawadvice.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Position-Statement.pdf

i would try to keep it at 2-4 pages max. do other dads think 4 pages is too excessive?

keep an eye out for a post on here titled: family court without a lawyer. I will add a new video to it and bump it up.

Thanks Bill that’s great much appreciated. Yes I’m glad, I stated urgent but didn’t think it would be as quick as a week.

I’ll check out the videos Thankyou
