Hi, I have a final hearing on the 7th November to do with my family law case and getting contact with my daughter back up and running as well as my EX breaching her previous contact order {enforcement order} as well as financial compensation for loss of earnings to do with travel expenses as I was promised contact with daughter on numerous occasions and then when I turned up it was denied or an excuse was issued.
I live 200 miles away and have to get a coach/train and it takes approx 7 hours to get to my destination for contact it has also given me Anxiety and Depression because of it including having to represent myself in court.
My question is that the court have ordered me to provide evidence for the final hearing Receipts, travel documents etc which I have but could I also get compensation for the Anxiety side of things? as the anxiety has played a massive role in not being able to work due to the stress of not having contact and all the court appearances and financial loss.
Don't get me wrong I would of had no problem if I got to have the agreed contact but traveling 200 miles and then nothing is severely stress related.
Thanks!!
I don't think there is any mechanism for getting compensation, I'm afraid.
I doubt it, getting wasted costs for expenses would be an achievement, I don't think the court would consider compensation for the anxiety it caused.
Best of luck
There isn't really anything you can do regarding compensation for anxiety / depression but it's likely you can get an order for costs for travel.
