I will second that regarding costs - I tried this over 15 years ago (my costs were £40k then - not including the divorce which had been settled a couple of years before). At every hearing, I asked for costs, and they were always reserved (basically, kicking the can down the road). Once residency (with me) and contact were finall sorted, I went for another hearing for costs (ironically, costing a couple of thousand for that hearing) and the judge said that my ex had "been acting reasonable, namely for an alcoholic in denial" and dismissed my claim for costs - despite the fact that she had repeatedly ignored court orders to procide information and samples on time.
