Hi all,
New to the forum, and this is my first post on here.
Just over 6 months ago, my wife asked for a divorce. At first, I was devasted and I tried to convince her that we should try to save our marriage. However, since then, friends and family have come forward to express their views on the way in which my wife has treated me over the years. It's as though a fog has been lifted, and I now realise that I need to get closure and move on as quickly as possible.
Although we both have good jobs, we have never managed to save anything. So, I'm hoping that we can get as much as possible done through mediation, rather than racking up solicitors fee's.
My question is whether anyone can recommend a mediator in the South East. We are based very near to Gatwick Airport.
Thanks in advance.
You can call the Family Mediation Council and ask for a list. Make sure you have one who is registered. Some specialise in finances, others children so choose one thats right for you. There are also guides on the divorce and finance process on the advicenow.org.uk website which you may find helpful. Mediation is much better than going through the courts as it will be quicker and cheaper. Hopefully at the end of mediation you will still be civil to each other.
