Congrats on the PR
If you have never had a contact order in place then all contact would of been made under an agreement between you and your ex partner which is not law, its just a mutual agreement i believe
The FHDRA is the 1st hearing in the contact order process, They will hear from you and hear from mum (if she turns up). They will ask mum why contact had stopped and on what grounds and then they will go from there
@tomedrip honestly this is [censored] amazing advice and I wish you sent it before court, I was and still am worked up and still in shock that all this is come about,
The information and support from this site is not far from wizardry, and I can't thank everyone enough, so my fight is just beginning and no doubt I will be here with lots more questions, and advice,
But in the end of Fridays hearing I felt so proud and so much energy flowing through my body that I've actually achieved so much, OK its taken me five months so far and by the next court date my beautiful daughter will be seven months old and I am missing her like crazy!!
My day will come and I WILL BE THE BEST FATHER I CAN POSSIBLY BE, thanks again chaps ( and girls) wish me luck for the next hearing xxx
I agree, great advice from tomedrip!
You mentioned in your previous post that the ex was awarded costs? Can you explain a little about that, or was it a mistake... as she was the one t miss the hearing it should be the other way round!
Great that you've got a judge to take an interest and ask to be kept in the loop too. Honestly, five months in the life of a family law case is a drop in the ocean, you're doing great!
All the best
Hi pal sorry, I meant that my ex has had my court costs put on her shoulders ( I think it's her punishment for not turning up twice) I think I said awarded being funny, and yes the judge was a absolute gentleman, he was very cross with the ex not turning up and I'm on benefits fighting as hard as I can to be in my daughters life. It's a really hard struggle trying to keep up the payments for the solicitors and trying to survive. I've literally given up everything I can to make this happen!!! It's a good job that air is free or I would be dead now
Well, there's a result, that rarely happens! Well done!
Thanks mojo, my next goal is to get some content in the interim at the next court case, like a fool I never asked for this on Friday, or my solicitor. I need to make sure that I am properly prepared next time
No worrys. It is a great feeling I do hope you dont get any future [censored] off her, and just be the best dad/daddy/father you can be.
Just remember always be reasonable, over time you will get more contact etc. ALWAYS let the physco ex from [censored] play the games, break the orders make allagations etc. Jus step back stop let it go over your head (not always easy) and never retaliate. The truth is sadly the courts & cafcass see a s**tload of cases like this.....they do know....they just want you in and out and sorted ready for the next unlucky non resident parents case. To them we are just numbers. Do you think in a month from now they would remember you (us, dads)?
I live in Wales and volenteer with FNF/BPM CYMRU (Families need fathers/Both parents matter Wales), there are branches of the groups all over the Uk you probably find them of some use (at some point). If in England its just FNF . Google it.They have monthly support meetings with free legal advice from a soliciter aswel as emotional help, and help and support in general e.g. help you out filling out forms for court cafcass etc.. I would at least check them online.
All the best!
P.s. I got a petition with the Welsh Assembly, if you dont mind signing, cheers!
