[Solved] Ex has ReMarried - Maintenance?

Hi, I've been paying maintenance for my child since my ex and I separated in 2001 by family arrangement with no problems. My ex remarried the guy she left me for 2 years ago, how does this affect me as far as paying maintenance? I have been told that this means I will only have to pay til the child is sixteen now instead of leaving full time education age. Their combined income is three times mine so it smarts a bit that I have to struggle while they have two holidays a year and new cars etc, this isn't sour grapes, just feels wrong to me.
Any advice is gratefully accepted.

thanks

Hi there,

Unfortunately this doesn't change what or how long you pay for, what you pay is based on your wage and doesn't have anything to do with what either her or her partner earn.

In the same respect if you were to marry your ex can't get any adjustment in her wage as its based on your wage only.

Darren
