Ex GF never show up for first direction hearing.

My ex gf was a covert narcissist, so if you been through that then you know the sheer [censored] I've been through. 11 years ago she was sleeping with me when she had a boyfriend. She got pregnant and told me the child (a girl) was her boyfriend's. Then after baby was born she dumped her boyfriend and I came on the scene. So I raised the kid until she was 5 then I left the mother in 2016, caught her cheating...again. Never got to see the child again it absolutely broke my heart. I'm only fully recovered from it all now nearly 6 years later.

So last March 2021 I went to solicitors and asked for DNA tests. Of course my ex just denied everything. So she was summonsed to court in Oct 2021 for a first directions hearing. She didn't show up, she never received the summons. So now this is Feb 2022 and my solicitor issued new summons and I'm still waiting. It's starting to affect my mental health all this waiting. Coming up to one year and I haven't even got her to court. How long does it take an how long can she ignore the court summons for until it becomes a crime?

hi,

sorry to hear what you have been going through. has your ex tried opening a child maintenance claim against you? usually in that scenario, they get involved if a parent needs to take DNA to prove they are childs parent or not.

I have heard some cases where a parent does not show up to court on multiple occasions, but judge keeps adjourning/re-scheduling hearing for a future date. other times they may get fed up and just make an order if parent does not turn up. is it possible court have wrong address for the mother?

@bill337 no all the addresses and documents are precise. She just doesn't want the truth coming out, some other mans name on birth certificate. Surely they can't drag this out for years, I'm losing precious time with the kid if she's mine.
