My solicitor is sending my application of this week an she said that cafcas will be intouch closer to the hearing date.

How long is it between the first hearing an the second one?

And how shall i deal wuth cafcas as i have read some bad stories about them.

Hi Scouse0,

Sorry to hear about your situation.

It can depend on what orders are given and court / judge availabilty as to how long between hearings. They usually try to resolve things quite quickly where children are concerned.

Dont worry too much about CAFCAS.

When you have your telephone meeting with them be positive and dont slag your former partner off.

They will ask you about what it is you wish to achieve in terms of child arrangements and how you are going to go about it. They will also ask you a bit about how you split up and the relationship now.

It is also likely that they speak with your former partner before yourself and so may ask you questions about anything that she has said to them.

You usually get the written report a few days prior to the hearing.

In short be positive, natural and child focused, its about the children and not you or your former.

Take a look at the stickies as Mr Slim has written a good post about dealing with CAFCAS.

Chin up....

Regards,

Dave

Hey and welcome to the forum you have come up the right place πŸ™‚

Try not to worry this can and will be sorted out it just takes time.

Excellent advice from dave there, once the c100 is submitted it should be 4-6 weeks before the first hearing and depending how complicated the case is ect it should be around 12 weeks until the next one and same again for the one following that
