Draft court order

I recently went to court this week, I got the draft order sent by my ex’s solicitors as I’m self represented. I don’t agree to some parts and told this to the court, in the meantime I am still waiting for judge approved order to be sent.

my ex has sent the draft court order to the school as judge ordered a few things within it about arrangements.

Anyway there are discrepancies within the report so I told school I am not following the order until It has been approved by judge and the official order has be approved and sent. Am I allowed to do this? I assume I am as it hasn’t been signed off or approved by judge and feels very much bias for the ex given her solicitor wrote it.

also what does costs in application mean? I’ve done some research and it seems it’s about paying her solicitors fees? Don’t know where she thinks I'm getting the money from as I can’t even afford my own solicitor hence being self represented.

Hope someone can enlighten me.

thanks fellas

Hi,

I think it's sensible to wait for the court to send you the approved order. If its distorted and has errors, you could write to court and invoke the slip rule, and ask for order to be amended.

Slip rule: https://uk.practicallaw.thomsonreuters.com/2-205-5221?transitionType=Default&contextData=(sc.Default)&firstPage=true#:~:text=The%20rule%20that%20allows%20the,Opens%20in%20a%20new%20window).

Hi please be careful, as it sounds like the last court order is still enforceable and you do not want to breach it. school don't like being stuck in the middle but must comply to any current court order, yes follow up with court ASAP to amend the order, or down load your own. you will have to pay the court to submit the application up to £60 for one application. low cost advise and form filling from McKenzie friends. experts in family court, I dumped my solicitor and worked with them.I am not a solicitor but been through the family court system I dont think your ex can make you pay for her solicitor in family court that's her choice to engage one.and same applies to you. hope this helps.
