I'm sorry you're in such a difficult place Kenny...I wish I could advise you, what does your solicitor advise?

...if they are offering a plea bargain then might that mean that they are not confident of success? How would it effect contact? It's something you need to weigh up and discuss with your solicitor, I don't have much experience of criminal courts or outcomes I'm afraid.

It would not be a good idea to admit anything you are not actually guilty of, regardless of whether it is part of a bargaining process. You know what you have, or have not done: if you are guilty then it will probably come out in the end anyway, so there isn't any harm in accepting a lesser charge, but if you are not-guilty then it cannot do any good (for you or your children) to admit something you did not do. Your solicitor will be able to advise much better on what to do than a public forum.
Good fortune,
O
