Hello all - first time poster π
I have a question - apologies if this has been asked elsewhere - re the selling of my family home. My divorce was finalised last September, with a 90/10% split of the house to my wife (I have a 15 year old daughter who wants nothing to do with me), with me getting a 90/10% split of my pensions - this worked out at roughly 65/35% overall.
My wife was told to get the house on the market asap, which she did - however, it does seem over-priced to me, and has had - according to the estate agent I ring from time to time - quite a few viewers, but no interest, due to, according to some of them, 'a lot of work needing to be done'.
I was prepared to wait patiently for my 10% - which I could really do with giving I'm now renting, plus of course paying child maintenance. However, I found out, from a verbal slip by the aforementioned estate agent, that my eldest daughter (aged 23) had got married last Saturday, with no-one mentioning it to me, and in fact a large secrecy operation had obviously been put into place to keep it from me. This has rather dented my intent to 'be the good guy', and I wanted to know what options i have to try and move this along, as it was part of the divorce settlement.
Thanks
I don't know much about this side of things, My sphere of knowledge is in the area of child contact, but if it were me I would write to the court and ask what can be done to move things forward, as you feel there are certain elements that are holding up the sale, mainly to do with the valuation of the property, which because of the internal work that needs doing is excessive and is putting potential buyer off.
You can get a free telephone consultation with a lawyer here
Echo the above, you will likely have to refer back to the court or get some advice from a solicitor to have the order enforced.
Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your replies - I have indeed taken the option of the free 15 minute phone call to the lawyer on the link provided π
