Technically, if you're going to 'add to proceedings' then you use a form C2 and the court fee for this is cheaper than a C100.

Personally, I would seek guidance on this at the hearing. Some judges will accept a verbal application, some will ask for C2 and others will want a C100. To be honest, I've seen it done all ways - it's at the discretion of the judge.

For example - one party could apply for a PSO, at the hearing the other party could make it known to the judge that they want a CAO. Judge could accept that application verbally and proceed or they can instruct that party they will need to make a cross application on a C2 or C100. It's never straightforward.
