[Solved] Court case help

Hi.
I'm trying to help my partner out who desperately wants access to his daughter. It's a long story but basically his ex ran off with his best friend and next door neighbour taking his at the time 3 year old daughter no warning just one day up and left. She now lives 6 hours away and is refusing all contact. He's started court proceedings, he did mediation which she didn't turn up to, so then a court date was set, we turn up she doesn't, they're telling him they can't find her. He doesn't have his exs address only her mums. He is paying csa and the court have told him they can only find her through dwp which csa is a apart of. He's given them all the info he has including his daughters school, his exs back account details but still they can't find her. His exs step Dad works for dwp, so could be the reason why they can't find her.
Any advice greatly received.
Thanks

Hi there

Your partner will need to submit an application for a seek and find order. This allows the court to order the bank, the childs school, the child benefit office, or indeed her relatives to provide her address. Im surprised the court didnt advise your partner about this.

Once you have her address then the case can progress. If the case is still open, your partner can submit form C2, which s for making a new application under existing proceedings. If the case has been closed then your partner would need to submit form C4.

Ill get you a link to more advice about this.

Best of luck

Thank you much appreciated. He got a letter from the court stating there are no further steps the court can take on the information they hold. So it's been adjourned til August.
It's so frustrating and the court are just useless!
Thank you for your reply and help.

Heres the info i mentioned... as the case is still open, he can submit form C2 and he would be applying for a new order.

I would give the court office a call and ask if they require form C4 (Seek and Find application form) to accompany the C2, they shouldnt, but some courts have required both.

Thanks.
Would that mean he has to pay a fee again?

There would be an additional fee to make an new application within existing proceedings, but not sure what that is exactly. Sorry.
