Hi Ragoo,

Do you have a schedule of when your meeting social services for section 7?

I was not clear - but what kind of contact arrangement did you have 3.5months ago? If unsupervised you may have a better argument to appeal. Whose parents supervised you - hers or yours? Either way if your concerned it is a long time before you see your son I would advise you to write to the judge explain that you are concerned about the delays likely to occur especially with Christmas and that you do not have a hearing you would like to re-establish contact in any way possible.

Personally I am not convinced about the courses unless the allegations are true. If they are not then you should not attend a DV course as this only fuels the fire that you are accepting of the allegation.

Parenting courses cannot be seen as a bad thing as it does no harm to refresh the mind.

Hi Ragoo,

I believe the undertone of this is on the basis they are potentially making themselves seem really pro contact when in fact they are not. You may be subject to lots of allegations as part of the section 7 they may suspend contact until a fact finding mission is carried out.

why are social services rather than cafcass doing the section 7?

When you broke the door was it in front of the children?

Assuming no other obstacles that you previously had unsupervised contact - you could write a letter addressed to the court manager and copied to the judge/magistrate who was at a previous case expressing your concern at lack of contact and that you have offered to prepared to take supervised contact.

If she is going to play the DV card and in preparation of the section 7 - perhaps read about DV be a bit more aware of it and think about a course to get a little more insight because it may help your case when you go back to court.

Good luck
