[Solved] Contact centre full??

Hi All,

Has anyone got experience with a their contact centre being full. I am awaiting a CAFCASS report on me and in the interim contact via a supervised contact centre was approved.

I have been chasing this up for weeks now as no contact has been arranged. It turns out our local contact centre is full. They cannot take any new cases.

So my question is what can i do about this? There are no other contact centres in the area? What the court put in place cannot be fulfilled?

Thanks all

Hi there

I do recall others having this problem, you could try speaking to the local Social Services department to see if there are any other centres that offer sessions., for instance we have a church locally that runs sessions, it’s worth asking. Have you been on the NACCC website, they also have lists. You could also ask CAFCASS if they can advise you, if they are good they might offer to liaise with the mother to make alternative arrangements... worth a try!

Your other option would be to write/email the court to explain that the centre is full and hence contact can’t go ahead. Ask if it would be possible to return to court for urgent new directions. They may agree, or they might direct you to submit form C2 to request new directions within the existing case, but that does mean another application fee I’m afraid.

If you can get it back to court, you can suggest that a trusted third party could supervise in the interim, so think about anyone like a family member that you could ask if needed.

Best of luck

Thanks very much for that!

I have gone back to CAFCASS and they are pushing for an answer about places..

There are no other places in the area that do contact just this one place thats full... I have checked everywhere.

Court is booked for 2 months time so if nothing gets sorted it may be worth trying to get back sooner. I have written to the court but it just goes as information if you dont pay... they all want your money.

She wont let anyone from the family do the supervision unfortunately... she did but changed her mind when she feels like it.

Hopefully I will get some answers to contact soon. Will get back onto all the services today as see what I can do.

Thanks agian!

You’re welcome..
All you can do is keep pushing, it’s been court ordered and the agencies involved should try and assist you in meeting the conditions of the order, if not then back to court for new directions is about the only other option. Best of luck
