Hi, can anyone tell me the best contact app? Which one is best for calls and messages? I'm preparing a non mol and suggesting a app to use. A lot of them seem American and a large choice can you suggest the main one please?
Hi
I did video calls with my kids for 3 years (alongside periodic contact) and used Skype. At the start of the call you can record it (either party can) and it records split screen both parties to the call and at the end of the call it auto downloads a copy of the recording and you just need to select 'save as' to save a copy.
Its free and easy to use and can be used to call each other and messaging too. Plus can be used on any device.
I had no issues, the kids have migrated to WhatsApp now as they have grown up, but my youngest still uses Skype on his ipad and will often message me or call me randomly which is great.. Each child can with create their own profile or do what my kids did which was to share an account and then move to WhatsApp.
Initially I agreed with ex when we would do calls with the kids eg Weds at 6pm, but as Skype was on the ipad and kids new how to use it, they would often call me outside of the agrees times (or message me) and the ex would be fine as it was driven by the kids.
Hope this helps, all the best.
