Hope you can advise as I don't have spare funds to go via courts.
My ex wife moved 100 miles away from where I live to be near her parents. When I have the children I stay with my parents which is 20 miles away from them.
I had been collecting and dropping them off at school or her parents house which was adding 20-26 miles to my journey.
Recently my ex wife falsely claimed I had been bullying and threatening her via phone and email and I had a call from the police who recommended I stop picking up and dropping off the children off at either houses, only contact them via email and only contact via me ex wife's parents. I did point out I didn't have my ex wife's phone number but was still advised the same.
Iv requested they drop the children the closest town at the supermarket which is a 13 mile drive for them and only a 80 mile drive for me to avoid any further accusations being made being a public place.
I sent them an email saying that the policeman had advised this and being local agreed that the location is reasonable. Her parents are still saying I need to collect them and drop them off at their house.
I'm not comfortable with that anymore as i wouldnt want any more false accusations to be made.
What are my rights with regards to asking them to take the children to the suggested drop off and pick up point? Will that mean having to work my pick up and drop off by their schedule?
Can they refuse and force me to take the risk or stop me seeing my girls?
Thankyou
Could you call the police officer that you spoke to and ask them if they could speak to them as they are refusing advice that he had given about this issue and it's putting you in a difficult situation.
You may have to be prepared to go to moderation and court - you can do this yourself at court so you aren't paying for a solicitor - that might make her realise that she can make wild allegations without evidence to back them up.
