Child Contact ...
Can people tell me what type of contact arrangement do you all have. i.e. schedule.
I work Mon-Fri (9-5) like many do... If you are in same position .... Then what type of contacts do you have?
i.e. Currently I have the following....
Week 1 .... Tues pick up 6pm-9pm
Sun -1pm til 9pm
Week 2 ... Tues 6pm-9pm
Sat 1pm til Sun 1pm (1 day stop over)
Then it goes bk to week 1 and then week 2 rotation.
So the question is what arrangements do you have and how to go about getting more contact which I am sure I will get but wondering what contact arrangement do others have.
Thanks in advance!
Hi
There are lots of different levels of contact, but generally alternate weekends is probably the norm where there are no welfare concerns, and then maybe some time during the week if practical. In your position, you're actually not far off, and in fact you have contact every weekend, so you could perhaps try for 2 nights sleepover on the alternate weekends, but bear in mind that your ex is also entitled to have weekend time. Your first step is to see if you can agree a bit extra contact, and if not, then try mediation.
Thanks actd. Yeah thinking perhaps increasing it to 2 nights every other weekend would be ideal. Will see how it goes.
Hi
My son sees his son on 2 week rotation, Tuesday after school 12 till 6 ( he is in court process now trying to change this to an overnight) then Friday from school overnights all weekend, he takes him to school Monday morning. Then Thursday after school overnight, back to school Friday morning. He achieves this by working a zero hours contract, but now looking for permanent work, hopefully new employer will fit around this times, his son is 4.
The courts would expect you to try and sort this between you, or by mediation. If you want something drawn up official, I imagine a solicitor could do this for your ex to sign.
Best thing for us is I pick him up every single fri 18.00 till Sat 18.00 and every single wed 9-5
Once he's in nursery every other weekend Fri 1800 till Sun 16.00
