Hi all
I've posted on here several times and found you all very helpful so thanks in advance.
I've just been through mediation unsucessfully as mum wouldnt drop half a day in nursery for my 19 month old to incorporate a full day in the week for myself.
So i'm left with a lousy 8 hours one day a weekend now which i'm not happy with.
I've applied for a child arrnagements order yesterday and paid the fees etc... just wanted to know a couple of things please.
how long roughly are the waiting times at the moment for the hearings - i've read some disturbing articles that its getting on for a year which has upset me greatly. Is this true does anybody know from experience?
Also i live close to the mum (6 miles) and dont see any reason why i shouldnt go for 50/50 so have put that in my comments on the application. I said basically to build up overnight stays from 1 night a week slowly up to 50/50 care over the next year or so. Which is what i want long term. I have a 6 year old daughter also who is missing out on time with her sister who she has a great relationship with as well so fighting on both fronts.
Is this something that courts will consider with my daughter being on the young side, ideally i'd like to not go back to court again so want to get her whole childhood sorted in one hearing, but also be sensible about it so its not to much change to soon.
Also i'm not flush so probably going to self represent, i could lend money from a family member for representation on the day but just wondered peoples thoughts on this.
Sorry for the long ish email.
Brilliant forum - so helpful.
hi,
after you submit the c100 form, usually court would reply to you within 2-3 weeks, giving you a date for a first hearing, and that hearing will likely be in 3 months time. every case is different. you could have 2-3 hearings, that are 3 months apart. if court decide to do welfare report (section 7), that can take anything from 12-18 weeks. you could save lot of money by self-representing, with the right guidance. if you need support feel free to private message me.
